HomeBuilder.com Acquires HomeWrite, A Home Management Software Company

HomeBuilder.com™, the new homes Web site of Homestore.com, Inc. (Nasdaq: HOMS), today announced its acquisition of HomeWrite Incorporated, a leading developer of consumer home management software marketed to the nation’s home builders. The companies will focus on opportunities to deploy their combined technologies to substantially improve the quality of interaction between builders and buyers before, during and after the sale process. Privately-labeled versions of the Homeowner’s Manual can also be integrated into a builder’s existing Web site, helping them create long-term customers by providing homeowners with a valuable tool to manage their homes from the moment they move in. The proprietary HomeWrite process works directly with a builder’s ERP systems to integrate detailed home information into the Homeowners’ Manual, minimizing duplication and the amount of effort required of the builder to implement. Additionally, HomeWrite’s Online Homeowner’s Manual will be expanded and integrated with Homestore.com’s™ Home Management System, a service offered to consumers at http://my.homestore.com. The Homeowner’s Manual provides a consumer-driven online record of a home’s structure and contents, and creates a personalized home care plan covering the what’s, why’s and how’s of maintaining that specific home.
